At last my turn, let me introduce myself, I am Shooter, in my mind the most magnificent pup that has ever run and played. I just love to explore new things, meet new people and make my presence known, however I managed to surpass myself in all of these areas when I visited Our Dogs, with my sister Roxy and brother Strider. Boy did all of the staff know I was there.
I really didn’t expect to go to the Our Dogs Offices, we have been to many places when we go out, but we had never even heard of an office, let alone visited one, but hey, you know us anything for fun and a chance of a new adventure.
I really wanted a chance to check out the Our Dogs offices as I had been told that our story was going to be printed in the paper, so you know, being a police pup in training I felt it was my duty to give it the once over and make sure that it checked out ok..
Visit to Our Dogs
When we arrived it was a bit of a shock to see that we were in the middle of Manchester, I could see cars, and even a train station, what a cool place to have an office! In front of us was a big blue door with a shiny brass plaque with the words Our Dogs. Boy did we feel important when a lady called Ali arrived to invite us not only into reception but then into the main office complex.
What a buzz that was being carried along all of those corridors and down all of those stairs, I bet that a sniffer dog would be handy to have to help you find your way around a place like this!
By the time we reached the office, I am sure that Ali, Sue and Deb’s arms must have been really aching, because we are getting quite heavy now. Lots of people were in this office, one was called Anne who was busy working, when she saw us three she soon stopped, well we are puppies, what more needs to be said!
These humans were quite clever, they knew how to encourage Sue and Deb to put us down on the floor, they got them a coffee! To be fair, Sue had already spoken to Ali and Anne asking if it was safe for us to have a run around. Apparently not only was it safe, but when Vince Hogan came to see us, he told us that it was a new carpet, I wonder if they did that for us? Then he joked and asked if we were house trained, cheeky, I wonder, what does Managing Director mean?!
It was great we met lots of new people, word got out that we had arrived and they just couldn’t help coming to see us. There were lots of offices surrounding the main one so we were able to run and play with even more people, they were all so nice. The best games were playing hide and seek under desks weaving in and out of computer wires and racing around waste paper bins. If this is working in an office, then office work must be good fun!
Then we had some work to do, because we were scooped up once more and had our photos taken with some of the Our Dogs team, again, nice work if you can get it.
Editor’s office
Back on the floor, we got a chance to check out the Editor’s Office, yet again lots of work going on in there, mostly around putting the final touches to the Our Dogs Annual 2005. We had a good look around, we even managed to re-arrange some of the papers that were on the floor and we finished off by doing a few circuits around and under the Editors impressive desk.
We were then asked to go up stairs, well when I say we, Ali, Sue and Deb had to climb the stairs whilst carrying us, ahh it’s a pup’s life!
Managing Director’s office
I thought that the down stairs office was impressive, but wow, the next office was something else; there was wood panelling on the walls, lots of old photographs and a huge desk, it was like going back in time.
Everything about that office told me that it belonged to an important person. We soon found out that this was Vince Hogan’s, the Managing Directors (MD) Office, I guess that means that he’s the boss, so it was a good job that we behaved ourselves downstairs and that no accidents happened on his new carpet!
I think we were a big hit with Vince because we then had a photo shoot with him, Charlotte and Polly. You know being a pup is so cool; we are so cute we can get even the most important of you humans wrapped around our paws!
Our visit to the Our Dogs offices was really good fun, we had a fantastic time and found the Our Dogs Team really welcoming and pup friendly. I was left feeling really happy that they were going to tell our story in their newspaper. I wonder what our next adventure will be, well whatever it is, you will be able to read all about it in Our Dogs.
See you soon, Shooter
